VOTE FOR TARPON SPRING'S OWN CHRISTOPHER STILL IN VIVA FLORIDA POSTER CONTEST
Tarpon Springs’ very own artist – Christopher Still – has been selected as one of five finalists in a poster contest to commemorate Florida’s 500 Year relationship with Spain. Viva Florida 2013 celebrates that relationship, which began with the 1513 landing of Ponce de León on the east coast of Florida. The Florida Humanities Council selected five designs as finalists for a poster for this commemoration, which will provide Floridians with a deeper understanding of both the historical context and the cultural significance of Florida’s relationship with Spain. It will be distributed to schools, libraries, Florida legislators, members of congress, and Viva Florida 500 cultural partners.
The winning design will be unveiled in Tallahassee on March 21 at the
Florida Heritage Awards Ceremony. Voting will end on March 1.
