Townsend Tarapani

Commissioner Tarapani was elected to a three year term on March 8, 2011 and was sworn in on April 5, 2011.

Commissioner Tarapani attended Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business and Economics. He is a Licensed Realtor in the State of Florida and is the co-owner and manager of Tarapani’s Department Store and the Manager of Circle “U” Properties, T & T Properties, a Century Pioneer Family Farm.

Prior to being elected City Commissioner, Mr. Tarapani served as Chairman of the City’s Budget Advisory Committee.

Commissioner Tarapani is a member of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation; St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church; Tarpon Springs Area Historical Society; Florida Cracker Cattle Association; Tarpon Springs Elks Club and Tarpon Springs Yacht Club. His is a volunteer for the American Legion Post 4 in Tarpon Springs
