Welcome to the City of Tarpon Springs IT Department

The Information Technology (IT) Department supports the mission of the City of Tarpon Springs by delivering secure, innovative, and reliable technology solutions to all municipal departments, public safety agencies, and our citizens. Under the leadership of Suzanne Linton, the Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the department plays a critical role in advancing the City's digital infrastructure, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, and enabling effective public service delivery.

Our Mission

To provide secure, efficient, and forward-thinking technology services that support City operations, enhance public engagement, and safeguard the digital assets of Tarpon Springs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enterprise IT Support – Maintain, secure, and optimize infrastructure for over 20 departments, including Police, Fire, Utilities, Finance, and Planning & Zoning.

  • Cybersecurity Governance – Ensure compliance with FBI CJIS Security Policy, Florida Statutes §282.3185, NIST, PCI DSS, and other regulatory frameworks.

  • Digital Transformation – Modernize legacy systems and promote smart-city initiatives, including cloud services, digital permitting, GIS mapping, and mobile workforce enablement.

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity – Lead citywide planning and readiness to ensure critical services remain resilient and recoverable.

  • Strategic IT Planning – Align technology investments with the City’s goals for sustainability, transparency, and citizen engagement.
