Solid Waste Collection

All residential curbside garbage collection is scheduled for pick-up on Monday and Thursday. All material must be placed at the curbside by 7:00 AM.

  • Residents are responsible for purchasing their own trash cans. For household trash, you can use up to five (5) garbage cans, each no larger than 32 gallons.
  • Construction debris and bulk items like furniture require special pickup

What Items Can I Put in the Trash?

Accepted Materials

Materials that are not recyclable and are not considered hazardous waste can go in your curbside trash container. 
These materials include but are not limited to:

  • Food Waste
  • Diapers
  • Disposable razors
  • Cat litter and pet feces
  • Glassware and ceramic dishes/cups
  • Hoses and wire
  • Juice boxes/pouches
  • Non-fluorescent light bulbs
  • Foam cups or packing materials
  • Treated wood (painted, stained, etc.)
  • TVs



Materials Not Accepted

Hazardous household waste materials should NOT be treated as everyday garbage and should NOT be disposed of curbside in your trash cans. These materials include but are not limited to:

  • Batteries (rechargeable and non-rechargeable)
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Paint and paint cans
  • Used motor oil and filters
  • Prescription medications

Commercial Dumpsters and Roll-Offs

Dumpsters

Dumpsters are available for use at the Yard Waste Facility for a cost of $80 per ton with a $30 minimum.
No tires or roofing shingles allowed in dumpsters.

  • Issues with existing dumpsters: Call 727-943-4837 or email solidwaste@ctsfl.us.

Roll-Offs

Section 8-13 of the city code provides that only the City may collect and dispose of waste. Because the city contracts with Waste Management for collection and disposal, roll off containers that are available from Waste Management should be used

  • If a roll off container is used for recyclable materials or a size not available through Waste Management, a different company may be used.
