Staff

The PRC is advisory to the City Commission and City staff to represent the recreational interests of the citizens of Tarpon Springs, provide oversight of the City's park system, and offer solutions and ideas in all matters affecting recreational experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.

Overview

Several major improvements have been completed or are in progress across our city: Sisler Field upgrades, Dorsett Park upgrades, Sunset Beach facilities, Riverside Park upgrades, and the installation of four pickleball courts in the exercise park. We have also instituted a park inspection program to help ensure our parks are safe and maintained properly. Park vandalism is an ongoing problem. Please help us keep our parks looking great and in working order by reporting any suspicious or vandalism activities.

The PRC extends an open invitation to the citizens of Tarpon Springs to our monthly meetings, where we discuss current and future projects related to the City's parks and recreational programs. Are we meeting your recreational needs? Do you have any ideas that would benefit the community? If so, we would love to hear from you on how we can improve our services to the community.

If you are a City Resident, you may apply to serve on an advisory board by completing an Advisory Board Application Form (PDF) and submitting it to the City Clerk's office. When vacancies occur, the Board of Commissioners considers all active applications when filling the position(s). Contact the City Clerk's office for additional information at 727-942-5614.
