NOTICE: Hydrant FlushingHydrant Flushing is done within the city by zones. Zone 1 extends north from Gulf Rd and east to Pinellas Ave. Zone 2 extends north of Tarpon Ave and west to Pinellas Ave. Zone 3 extends south of Gulf Rd and east to Pinellas Ave. Zone 4 extends south of Tarpon Ave and west to Pinellas Ave.

The City begins its annual hydrant flushing in November. The process takes approximately three months, and a contractor performs the work. Hydrant flushing is a yearly activity that tests fire hydrants for readiness and cleans water mains. You may notice some discoloration or cloudiness in the water. This is normal and typically clears up within a few hours. If you encounter cloudy or discolored water, we advise running the cold water tap outside your home until the water is clear.
